Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I am always looking for something to write my next article about and this week has been no different. Then when I went in to Sunday School on Sunday morning, it happened. One of the men gave me what I needed.

We were talking about our website and what we could and couldn’t put on it. Then he made a statement about my articles that got me to thinking. He said, “Your articles are all pretty lengthy.” I know about how many words I usually try to keep them at, but I guess that is a little long.

I want the story that I tell to tie into Scripture and bring out the teaching that is there. As I sit down to write this I have decided to keep things shorter than normal. I’m going to try to get the preacher in me to be a little less talky.

You know sometimes that can be a good thing. There are times when I don’t have but a minute or two to share with someone. It is then that I have to be exact in what I am going to say and how I say it.

So let me say this – “It is my desire that every person who reads an article that I write, come to know Christ as their Savior and follow Him as Lord. Regardless of how many words I am able to use, I want them to come to Christ.”

Matthew 5:17 says – “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” What Matthew recorded concerning what Jesus said was short and to the point.

In Romans 10:8-10, Paul wrote – 8“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ – that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

I’ve said it before and will again – “Jesus Saves!” “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).

So there you have it, short, sweet and to the point -------- JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, there truly IS something about that name!!

Christ only, always,

Bro. Paul
