Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Vicki and I made a quick trip to Norman North (NN) to see Camryn and Caitlyn play volleyball.  The NN varsity is ranked 2nd in the state and they were playing top ranked Deer Creek of Edmond and beat them!  It was a tough battle, but they did it.

Then on our way home Vicki volunteered to keep Harper and Sutton overnight on Friday to give Joshua and Danielle a night out.  That woman has more energy than most!  We just kept them until we met up at River Road on Saturday.

We met Joshua and Danielle at River Road for the big reveal!  Bryan and Charity were going to reveal whether they were having a boy or girl.  Chasity worked to get things set up and along with help from some others, they pulled off a unique reveal.

The banner was ‘Football or Pom-poms’?  Everyone had to sign whether they picked boy or girl.  My grandson, Lance, was picked to kick this funny looking football with the color inside.  It was set up and things were starting.

Lance kicked it, but it just rolled out in front and didn’t do a thing.  My granddaughter, Scout, picked it up and kicked it then.  It was then that people started shouting – “It’s a girl!!!”  Of course the pink “stuff” was blowing all over.  The truth was out – they were having a girl!

For the Nachtigall’s that will be 7 granddaughters and 5 grandsons.  I am excited that we have found out, but the excitement is not over.  Sometime in mid-February the truly big reveal will come!  This little girl will burst into this world to show everyone what God has made and what love has brought into this world.

As I looked into Scripture, I saw a couple of times where God did a reveal as well.  It was in Genesis 18 that the Lord came to Abraham and said -- “I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.” (18:10).

The fact that Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 didn’t seem to matter.  They were going to have a boy which would be an exciting time for Abraham and Sarah.  We find in Genesis 21:1-7 the big reveal came and Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah.

Then in Luke 1:26-38 there is the reveal to Mary who was engaged to Joseph.  30 And the angel said to her “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.  31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.”  (vv. 30-31).

She didn’t understand how it would happen, but the angel told her that Holy Spirit would come upon her and the power of the Most High would overshadow her and the really big reveal would be that her child would be called ‘the Son of God.’  (v.35).

The reveal wasn’t over.  Not only would Mary have a child, but Elizabeth, the one who was called barren, would as well.  It would happen because ‘nothing is impossible with God.’  (see vv.36-37).

Paul wrote in Galatians 4:4-5 -- 4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Yes it will be exciting when this little girl has her big reveal, but the Big Reveal that makes a difference in our lives was when the angels told the shepherds – ‘for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’  (Lk. 2:11).

The question is – “Have you found the Big Reveal in your life?”  Remember – John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, there IS something about that name!!

Christ only, always,

Bro. Paul
