God Doesn't Care

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Vicki and I were blessed to be able to spend some time away and just enjoy some wonderful singing at Silver Dollar City.  It was Gospel Singing Picnic and it was truly a great time.  We were able to hear some of the groups that have blessed our lives in the past and even hear some new groups.

Vicki absolutely loves this time and allows me to go along just because she is so sweet!  We always have a great time visiting with people we meet from all over which is a blessing for us as well.

I can’t even begin to tell you all the songs that we heard, but even the not so well known groups did an amazing job.  There was one group and one song that really touched my heart and that is what I want to share.

We went to see the group Greater Vision.  Gerald Wolfe was playing the piano and told us to get past the title of the next song so we could hear the message of the song.  Then he told us the title – God Doesn’t Care.  Then Chris Allman began to sing with John Epley and Rodney Griffin joining in.  Chris sang ----

You never would believe the way I’ve lived,

You don’t know all the things I’m guilty of,

My sins are much to horrid to forgive,

I’m covered by the shame of all I’ve done.

If this is your story, you need to know the truth,

God doesn’t care; He just wants to love you.

His grace can reach the deepest in despair,

So no matter what you’ve done, God doesn’t care.

You may not understand the way God loves,

His grace has covered sin we’ll never know,

So stand beneath the cross where Jesus hung,

And let Him wash you in the cleansing flow.

Whatever your story, you need to know the truth,

God doesn’t care; He just wants to love you,

His grace can reach the deepest in despair,

So no matter what you’ve done, God doesn’t care.

He cares about the pain that brings you down.

He cares about what breaks your heart in two.

He cares about the tears your crying now.

But your yesterdays can’t keep His love from you,

Whatever your story, you need to know the truth,

God doesn’t care; He just wants to love you.

His grace can reach the deepest in despair,

So no matter what you’ve done, God doesn’t care.

His grace can reach the deepest in despair,

So no matter what you’ve done, God doesn’t care.

That song absolutely touched my heart.  It carried a message that the world needs to hear over and over.  God doesn’t care what you’ve been through, He just wants to love you.

John 3:16 tells us that “God loved the world so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Jesus loved a woman of Samaria who have been married five times and the one she was with at the time was not her husband (John 4:1-26).

Jesus loved Peter enough even after he denied Jesus three times to reach out to him and call him to follow Him (John 21:15-17).  Saul persecuted the early believers but Jesus loved him enough to meet him on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-9).

So you see, God doesn’t care where you have been or what you have done; He just wants to love you.  You may well think that you have a past that is beyond forgiveness.  Let me assure you it is not.  God loves you.  It is my prayer that you will open your heart to Him and let His love into your life today.

JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, there IS something about that name!!

Christ only, always,

Bro. Paul
